An automatic weather station (AWS) specifically designed for atmospheric data collection from ships has been installed on the ferry Marie Martek, which travels weekly between Nuuk and Kapisillit. The data will be used to analyze temperature, pressure and wind gradients in the Godthåbsfjord on a seasonal scale. In addition to the scientific use, the data is displayed in real time on the ship, providing the crew and the passengers with instantaneous weather information.
